A young man disguised as a woman was accosted trying to gain access into a construction site in Sosiani, Eldoret by security guards. The guards, according to Standard Digital 'initially marveled at her beauty' only to realise on close scrutiny that he was a fake. The guards summoned the police who arrested and took him to the police station. It is not yet clear what he wanted to do on the construction site, however, there have been reports that several people in the area have been robbed, and even raped by men disguised as women.

There was pandemonium at Omole bus stop on Oba Ogunnusi Road in the Ojodu area of Lagos on Tuesday after a traffic warden, Sunday Charles, engaged in fisticuffs with a motorist, identified as Kingsley. It was learnt that Kingsley, who was stopped by a team of traffic officers at the junction, was allegedly beaten up by Traffic Man Charles for refusing to part with N50. The motorist lost three front teeth during the brawl... According to Punch, Kingsley and some people in the bus manhandled Charles and threatened to drag him to the Ojodu Police Division for the assault on the driver, before some pedestrians advised them against reporting the incident. The dead body of a Puerto Rican man has been embalmed and placed seated on a poker table alongside friends and family.Henry Rosario Martinez died aged 31 on January 19 in his home town of Barceloneta in the northern side of Puerto Rico.The cause of death was alcohol consumption mixed with the taking of prescription drugs,Daily mail reports.. Local media reports it could have been a suicide. Martinez used to sing reggaetton music, loved rooster fights, and was also a fan of gambling. A Federal High Court has varied the bail conditions given to the National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Olisa Metuh.This comes after his request on Monday, January 25, that his bail conditions be varied.In his application, counsel to Metuh, Sylvanus Tahir, told the court that the bail conditions were too stringent . According to him, his client has no friends or relatives with properties in Maitama area of the Federal Capital Territory, as such, the court should vary the conditions to allow for property owners in any other part of the FCT to stand as sureties for his client .  With the new condition, trial judge, justice Okon Abang, changed his earlier order that the sureties must be property owners in the Maitama area of Abuja only to an order that the two sureties must be owners of properties in any area of the Federal Capital Territory. He, however, retained the sum of bail which he put at 400 million Naira.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun Command, has arrested two suspects, who pretended to be mad, for being in possession of a decomposing human head. The suspects, Alaba Folawiyo and Mutiu Lawal, according to Mr. Wale Folarin, the state’s NSCDC Public Relations Officer, were hiding in an uncompleted building near Apomu Junction in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole LGA, when they were arrested. Vanguard reports a Blackberry phone hidden inside a drug pack, knife, perfume cans, clothes, school bags, shoes, wristwatches, ATM cards, electrical materials, roofing sheets, cooking utensils, suspected to be belongings of the victims of the suspects, were found in the building. According to the corps, information gathered showed that the suspects had been in the area for a long time pretending to be mad men, while carrying out their activities with others who are now at large.

In it's efforts to curb the spread of Lassa fever ,the Lagos State Chapter of the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria on Monday said it has killed at least 7,243 rats at eight major markets in the state under its de-rat market programme. Speaking at a Workshop for health officers organised by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, President of the Association, Mr. Samuel Akingbehin, said the killing of 7,243 rats was carried out at Onigbongbo, Oshodi, Oke-Odo, Ikotun Idanwo, Ojuwoye, Mile 12 and Alaba Rago Markets in the state. Akingbehin said de-rating the markets was part of the association’s efforts to curb the spread of Lassa fever in the state. “The exercise is strategic to our efforts aimed at preventing communicable diseases. We have begun the programme since the outbreak of Lassa fever,” he said.

On Monday evening, dead bodies buried under the foundation of an uncompleted building along the Enugu Port-Harcourt Express Road ,were exhumed .Human parts and fresh dead bodies were discovered at an uncompleted building, inside a bush along the Express Way,at the Ugwuaji Area of the State. It was reported  that curious villagers raised the alarm, which prompted security agencies to invade the location.In the meantime, villagers are pointing accusing fingers on a new church located close to the scene.
