Photo: Kano Police Arrest Woman Who Specializes In Buying Children For N20,000

The Kano state police command has arrested one Itakpom Wadda from Edo state for buying children for N20, 000 in the state. According to reports, the suspect was arrested after she bought a child from a prostitute that recently welcomed a baby in the Sabon Gari area of the state. The police got a tip-off about the transaction and she was immediately arrested. When she was interrogated, she said she bought the baby for a couple in Port Harcourt, Rivers state who were in need of a child. 'President Buhari asked us to focus on Northern Nigeria'- World Bank president, Jim Yong Kim, claims

The President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, held a press conference in Washington D.C yesterday and spoke about World Bank activities in Africa. While addressing the press, Kim said that in his first meeting with President Buhari, the president asked that the world bank should specifically shift its focus to Northern Nigeria. “You know, in my very first meeting with President Buhari he said specifically that he would like us to shift our focus to the northern region of Nigeria and we’ve done that.  Now, it has been very difficult. The work there has been very difficult. I think Nigeria, of course, has suffered from the dropping oil prices. I think things are just now getting better.  But the conversation we need to have with Nigeria, I think, is in many ways related to the theme that I brought to the table just this past week, which is investment in human capital.  The percentage of the Gross Domestic Product that Nigeria spends on healthcare is less than one percent. President Buhari makes 2 appointments in top agencies

- The MD of NSIA, Uchechi Orji, has been re-appointed by President Buhari due to his remarkable strides at the government agency  - The president appoints Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma as the director general of the Nigerian Law School  - Buhari asks the Senate to confirm Aishah Ahmad as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The managing director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Uchechi Orji has been re-appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari for another term of five years. ALSO READ:  We are ready for Nigeria's breakup - Ango Abdullahi The reappointment of Orji was made known in a statement by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, on Thursday, October 12. According to the statement, Orji, who has been serving in that position since October 2012 for an initial term of five years, renewable for another term of five years, was reappointed by the president following his achievement at the government agency.
