Graphic: Man reportedly beheads his step-mother for ritual in Benue State '

A young man reportedly murdered and beheaded his step mother woman in Obaganya area of Otukpo, Benue State. According to Idoma Voice, the suspect whose identity is not yet known waylaid his step mother at her farm and chopped off her head. A source said the victim's family became worried when she didn't return from her farm.
"They traced her to the farm and discovered her headless body in the farm. Shockingly, when they got home, they discovered the head with her step son," the source said.

An angry mob almost lynched the suspect who confessed to having committed the heinous crime but for the prompt intervention of the Otukpa area command.









He was subsequently arrested and moved to Makurdi, the state capital for further interrogation. The spokesperson for the State Police Command who confirmed the incident said that said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently investigating the case.
